But, there are a lot of debates on whether garlic bread can be cooked in the microwave or not.

So, Can you actually microwave garlic bread? If you’re using frozen garlic bread, simply follow the instructions on the package. Things to Consider Before Microwaving a Garlic Bread

When it comes to cooking garlic bread, there are a few things you should know before you pop it in the microwave.

For one, microwaving garlic bread can often lead to an uneven bake and a soggy texture.

Additionally, the high temperatures of microwaves can cause the butter and cheese on top of the garlic bread to become foamy and even burnt.

If you’re looking for crispy, toasty garlic bread, the microwave is not likely to be your best bet.

You also have to keep in mind, microwaves do not all operate at the same speed. Different machines heat the food placed in them with different capacities.

You should become very familiar with the velocity of the microwave before utilizing it.

Process of Microwaving Garlic Bread

Garlic bread is a delicious, savory addition to any meal. And it’s also easy to make you want to cook it in the microwave. But you must follow the correct process to do it.

Preparing The Bread

Before you bake or microwave your garlic bread, make sure you have everything you need.

The bread must be prepared and seasoned with garlic. Garlic salt or garlic powder, along with butter, will make the most basic garlic bread.

Making sure your butter isn’t cold is an excellent first step. Using soft butter will make it much easier to spread.

You can make garlic bread with a variety of additional components. Parsley flakes, oregano leaves, and dried chives are examples of seasonings.

Olive oil can be substituted for butter, although it does not perform as well in the microwave. Another option for sprinkling on the bread is onion powder but use it sparingly.

Putting in the Microwave

To begin, put butter on each slice of bread, then add the garlic (powder or salt). Then, if you’re using herbs, sprinkle them on top.

Using microwave-safe cooking paper, arrange the bread on a microwave-safe plate with enough space between each piece. Cook for 30 seconds on medium-high, then taste to see whether it’s done to your taste.

You can use wax paper or Saran wrap as mentioned earlier. To make the bread crispy you can microwave it for some extra seconds.

Reheating Garlic Bread in the Microwave

The majority of garlic bread can be microwaved and reheated. Though we would not recommend reheating bread that has previously been cooked in the microwave.

Microwave the bread for 3–5 seconds to reheat it. Garlic bread that has been laid out for a long time is usually no longer edible. You can freeze the bread if you need to save it.

Frozen bread can be thawed in the microwave. It won’t be the same as if you cooked it. As a result, you may need to reheat it afterward.

Other Methods to Make Garlic Bread Without Microwaving It

Apart from the microwave, there are a number of different ways to cook garlic bread and get a delicious result.

One of the options is to cook on a stovetop for around 10 to 15 minutes on low heat. Wrap the bread in aluminum foil and cook for 5 to 10 minutes depending on the size.

If you have a little more time, you could also try slow cooking your garlic bread. Slow cookers are available in many different sizes, so there is no need to worry if yours is on the small side.

You can cook garlic bread in a slow cooker on low for around two to three hours.

Another popular option is to bake garlic bread in an oven. This can be done at a temperature of around 375 degrees Fahrenheit for about 15 to 20 minutes.

The temperature for heating the bread should be increased to 425 degrees Fahrenheit, and the part containing the butter should be rotated upwards.
